Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve
Museum-reserve "Tsaritsyno" is an architectural ensemble in the style of neo-Gothic and landscape Park, conceived as a personal country residence of Empress Catherine II. Construction began in 1775 under the supervision of architect V. I. Bazhenov, and subsequently continued under the supervision of his student M. F. Kazakov.
"Tsaritsyno" is a modern Museum, exploring the history of the XVIII century, the life of the Royal family and the history of the place, in a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions.
The visiting card of "Tsaritsyno" is a historical Palace ensemble and a new light and music fountain, Tsaritsyn ponds and Park pavilions.
The Museum and greenhouses regularly host sightseeing and educational programs, business events, quests, theatrical performances and games, and tours are held in sign language, and for visitors with disabilities. All buildings of the Museum are adapted for visiting guests in wheelchairs. Tsaritsyno is always gladly open for small children: in the Park there are mother and child rooms and changing tables in the museum.
Every year "Tsaritsyno" hosts the festival of gardens and parks, festivals "Dacha Tsaritsyno" and "Colorful sky", The day of history of Tsaritsyn and significant city holidays. Music lovers will love concerts, from organ to jazz.
