House-museum of Pushkin on Staraya Basmannaya
This wooden house belonged to the uncle of the famous Russian poet A.S. Pushkin – Vasily Pushkin, a well-known poet of the early 19th century. He spoke French perfectly and was the first person who translated his nephew’s poetry which soon became popular in Europe. The collection includes the works of fine and decorative arts, furniture and old books. Not only the atmosphere of life of Pushkin’s time with all the details is recreated here, but also the genuine atmosphere of a hospitable Moscow house.
