MIKHAILOVSKY PALACE (RUSSIAN MUSEUM)
The Russian museum is the richest depository of Russian art in the world. The major exposition located in the building of Mikhailovsky Palace represents Russian art from X till XXI centuries:
- • masterpieces of icon-painting (A. Rublev, Dionisiy);
- • landscape paintings (I. Aivazovsky, I. Shishkin);
- • history paintings (G. Ugryumov, K. Brullov);
- • paintings of the second half of XIX century (I. Repin, V. Perov);
- • painters of various artistic groups like «The World of Art» and «The Knave of diamonds» (A. Benois, P. Konchalovsky);
- • avant-gardists of the beginning of XX century (V. Kandinsky, K. Malevich).
