SHEREMETEV PALACE - MUSEUM OF MUSIC
The Sheremetev Palace built in 1750 is a unique historical monument and a rare example of Saint-Petersburg manor house. The Palace exposition is divided into the three main sections: the history of the Sheremetev family and XVIII-XX nobility lifestyle; unique collection of musical instruments open to the public; an exhibition of private collections.
The museum musical collection has more than 3000 instruments and it is one of the five largest collections in the world. It consists of musical instruments created by the famous Western European and Russian masters in XVI–XX centuries, as well as a unique Russian horn orchestra and musical instruments of all continents of the world.
