About the beginning of issue of electronic visas to foreign citizens for visit of territories of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region

As of October 1, 2019, in accordance with presidential decree No. 347 of July 18, 2019, citizens of foreign States, the list of which was approved by government order No. 2021-R of September 10, 2019, may apply for electronic visas to visit the territories of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region on the specialized website of the Russian foreign Ministry.

The electronic visa is issued free on the basis of an application of a foreign citizen, filled in electronic form on the website of the MFA of Russia not later than 4 calendar days before the intended date of entry, with attached digital photographs in an electronic file. No other documents are required to obtain an e-visa.

E-visas are issued for a period of 30 days with a permitted period of stay on them in the territories of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region up to 8 days from the date of entry.

Electronic visas for visiting St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region are valid for entry into And exit from the Russian Federation by air, road and water transport, as well as without the use of vehicles only through the following checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation located in the territories of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region:

- air checkpoint "Pulkovo»;

- sea checkpoints "Vysotsk", " Big port of St. Petersburg (marine station)", " Passenger port of St. Petersburg»;

- automobile check points "Ivangorod", "Torfyanovka", "lingonberry", " Svetogorsk»;

- pedestrian checkpoint "Ivangorod".

Entry into the territory of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region on the basis of electronic visas by rail is currently impossible for technical reasons.
