120 Anniversary of the Russian Museum

The State Russian Museum is celebrating its 120 anniversary on 19th of March. This date is included into official holidays in St. Petersburg. Additional cultural events in the museum will be organized.

On the day of celebration the Russian Museum incites to participate in historical quizzes and listen to some live classical music performed by students of the State Conservatory. At 12.00 in the Mikhailovsky Palace you can listen to the concert of symphonic orchestra conducted by Fabio Mastrangelo.

With the St. Petersburg CityPass you can visit the whole complex of the Russian Museum including Mikhailovsky Palace, St. Michael’s Castle, Marble and Stroganov Palaces.

The Russian Museum was opened on March 19th 1898 by the decree of the Imperator Alexander the Third. Today its collection includes around 400 thousand items from Х to ХХI centuries.
