GRAND DUCAL BURIAL CHAPEL (PETER AND PAUL FORTRESS)
The building of the Grand Ducal Burial Chapel was erected in 1896. The Burial Chapel is connected to the Peter and Paul Cathedral with a gallery, in which the Royal rooms were created – rooms for rest for members of the ruling family. Now in the Royal Room there is an exhibition of objects – offerings on the royal graves. 60 concrete crypts for burial of members of the imperial family were made under the floor during construction. The graves are decorated with tombstones and memorial structures. During the World War II a bomb shelter was built beneath the building.

The ticket office of the Museum you need is to the left of the Peter and Paul Cathedral, opposite the Boat House. In the ticket office you will be issued a comprehensive ticket to visit three sites – the Peter and Paul Cathedral, the Grand Ducal Burial Chapel and the Trubetskoy Bastion Prison.
