Memorial Apartment of Andrey Bely
The museum offers its visitors the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the first third of the 20th century, as well as to get acquainted with the biography and works of Andrey Bely — one of the rightest representatives of the Silver Age: a poet, a writer, a philosopher, a theorist of symbolism. He lived in this apartment for twenty-six years since birth until 1906. Afterwards in Bely’s biography there were plenty of addresses, cities, countries: he rented rooms in different parts of Moscow and the Moscow suburb Kutchino, in St. Petersburg and Tsarskoye Selo, in Swiss town Dornach, in Berlin... But he considered Arbat to be his homeland and the house which is now a museum to be his only genuine home.
