TRUBETSKOY BASTION PRISON (PETER AND PAUL FORTRESS)
The museum tells about the history of the main tsar’s prison for accused of political crimes. It was impossible to escape from the Trubetskoy Bastion Prison. The cameras show the life of the prisoners in the period from 1870 to 1917, with the help of models reconstructed individual episodes of their lives: enter the arrested to jail, search, dating room… On the tablets in the corridor of the Prison presents rules of conduct, daily routine and diet for prisoners. For political prisoners hard labour sentence was the most severe punishment after death penalty.

The ticket office of the Museum you need is to the left of the Peter and Paul Cathedral, opposite the Boat House. In the ticket office you will be issued a comprehensive ticket to visit three sites — the Peter and Paul Cathedral, the Grand Ducal Burial Chapel and the Trubetskoy Bastion Prison.
