Mosquarium (VDNH)

There is no sea or ocean in Moscow, however there is the Mosquarium that is one of the biggest oceanariums in Europe. It is located on the legendary Exhibition Center VDNH.

It is a home for more than 12 thousand water animals from different parts of the planet. Varicolored fishes are swimming around in the first aquarium, crocodiles are quietly sleeping in the second one, mischievous Baikal seals are playing in the third one. Every visitor has a possibility to touch nereids, hermitcrabs, crabs, numbfishes and horseshoe crabs. You can go through the spectacular glass tunnel under the shark tank. Premier stars of the Mosquarium are three grampuses. Grempuses are the big rarity for oceanariums all over the world, but you can watch them here in the panoramic aquarium and during the water show. The biggest one is the grampus named Narnia, that weighted about 3 tons.

It takes about 20 minutes to get from the main entrance of V.D.N.Ha to the Mosquarium on foot. You can also use free minibuses from the V.D.N.Ha metro-station (South exit), which working hours are from 9.30 a.m., or get to the place from the main entrance of V.D.N.Ha – working hours from 10 a.m. The last minibus goes from Mosquarium at 9.45 p.m.

The trip to the Mosquarium is best combined with the Museum of Cosmonautics and the Historical park "Russia – my history". The museums are situated at one metro station "V.D.N.Ha".​
